Buffets are very common in our family celebrations that I could say I’ve tried several buffet spreads to distinguish one from the other. Sadly, there’s not so much difference except for the pricey buffets I’ve had in some 5-star hotels. That being said, my experience at Chateaubriand was one for the books — as it offers a luxurious dining experience from the food, ambiance, and excellent guest service. Notice how the place transforms into a romantic spot in the evening!
Chateaubriand opened its doors to the public last September 2018. It is a new concept for the Brazilian-style “Churrasco”, a Spanish and Portuguese term for grilled meat which is more popular in Latin American countries.
About Chateaubriand
Chateaubriand is located in William Street in Roxas Blvd, just beside the old DFA. Aside from the unlimited premium steak, it has a small buffet spread for desserts, Asian and Italian dishes, salads, cheese and cold cuts.
The first floor has a seating capacity of 180 while the second floor has 166. The second floor will house a live open kitchen mainly for seafood but it is not yet operational as of this time. The second floor also has function rooms for 10 and 40 pax ideally for corporate meetings and intimate celebrations.
The Elegant Ambiance
Anyone who steps inside the restaurant would instantly admire its elegant interiors. The classy, elaborate details from the marble floors and walls, wine cellars, dining tables, comfort rooms, chandeliers are but noteworthy. It seems that every corner was carefully planned and designed sophisticatedly!
The garden lounge outside is perfect for chilling in the evening. You may also pass by the open kitchen where you can see the chefs prepare your steak.
Delicious Churrasco
The dashing “Churrasco” boys will carve the churrasco right at your plate. Seemingly knowledgeable on different types of steak, they can recommend which sauce perfectly matches each churrasco, as well as how the steak was prepared.
You will be given a chip with two sides, green for go and red for stop. Turn the red chip upside if you don’t want another serving of steak, otherwise keep the green chip up if you want continuous serving of Churrasco.
We tasted different types of Churrasco: Chuleta, Fraldinha, Lombo, Carneira, Frango Con Bacon, Frango, Pescado and Linguica.
To end it on a sweet note, we had Abacaxi or juicy pineapple with cinnamon and brown sugar.
Chuleta- Rib-Eye Steak with mesquite crust
Fraldinha- Choice Flank steak marinated with Brazilian spices
Lombo- Pork Loin with a delicate herb marinade
Carneira- Boneless lamb leg with a minted oil rub
Frango con Bacon- Bacon wrapped chicken breast with Piri-Piri marinade
Frango- Chicken quarters marinated with lemon rosemary
Pescado- Grilled Marlin or Grilled Tuna
Linguica- Classic pork sausage basted with garlic butter
What stood out for me was the Frango con Bacon, Fraldinha and Linguica. The Frango con Bacon had the delicious of tandem of chicken and bacon. I guess it will be a default favorite since I love bacon. Linguica was also tasty and savory. I also like the concoction of marinades and spices in the Fraldinha.

The churrasco comes with grilled vegetables such as onions and peppers.
You may select from a variety of sauces such as mushroom, garlic, chimichurri, salsa con verde, and barbecue.
Asian and European Buffet
Since the main highlight of Chateaubriand is steak and wine, they do not have an extensive buffet.
Enjoy a variety of Japanese food such as Tempura, Maki and Sashimi.
Feast over a good spread of cold cuts and imported cheese.
Or begin with a healthy platter of fresh greens and create your salad from their abundantly-supplied salad bar.
Boost your appetite and grab some nachos and cheese.

Cleanse your palates and taste these yummy desserts and refreshing fruit juices.
Wine
With their wide selection of wine, surely there is a perfect match for every type of steak. You may ask the servers their recommendations. I was not able to try them though.
The price of the wine ranges from 1k to 300k. You may check their menu for more details.
A Memorable Night
It was a fantastic night to remember. Not only did I have a fair share of superbly good food, I also get to share this special moment with my fellow bloggers. Expensive yes — but to experience it at least once in a while will be all worth it.

The price looks reasonable for a luxurious restaurant. Do they have free wine?

Yes, reasonable for a luxurious restaurant. Sadly, the price is not inclusive of the wine. It has varying prices, depending on the kind. But I bet it’s worth the try 🙂
