For its fifth year anniversary today, 8 Cuts Burger Blends has a special treat for its beloved patrons. Selected items on the menu like Cheeseburger, Q-Daddy, Piggy and Party Spaghetti are sold for only Php 88.
As soon as they had the social media blast of this promo, I immediately tagged my friend Jem knowing that there is one branch in Serendra – which is accessible to both of us. Believe it or not, I haven’t tried dining in any of its branches so I thought this would be the best time to appreciate their creations. I’m not big on burgers but with a legit burger house running a promo like this – how can I say NO?
Judging by the menu, they promise to provide only the best quality burgers.
When I arrived, I already saw the long queue. But contrary to my fears that it would be rowdy, it was smooth and organized. That is a strategic move to ensure that everyone is maximizing the space inside the dining area. They do not allow you to enter if your companions are not yet available. The staff practiced effective communication – to the listing of guests, noting the orders and advising if there is an available table. While in the line, I noticed a few staff members roaming around offering free nachos and water. This gesture is much appreciated for guests like us who are waiting outside. They want to guarantee that the guests are well-hydrated and not overly bored. A large teddy bear placed at the entrance keeps us entertained too. You may take a photo/ video/ boomerang to show your current location in the line and win special prizes from 8 Cuts.
We ordered everything on the promo then just added a bucket of onion rings. I heard this is one of the most- raved onion rings in the metro.
Jun had the Cheeseburger. Oozing with cheese, the burger had the right proportions of cheesy flavor to complement the savory beef patty. It was tasty and juicy as per Jun. The bun had the perfect firmness, unlike other commercial burgers where the bread is soggy and looks old.
Jem had the Q-Daddy, which is made of layers of onion tanglers, bacon, lettuce, cheddar cheese and BBQ sauce. For her, it was crunchy and well-balanced in terms of flavor.
As a bacon lover, I surrendered to Piggy. I loved the crunchiness of the smoked bacon and the vegetables underneath made me feel less guilty digging in to this meat monster. Maybe it’s just me but I still think there is a lack of flavor in the beef patty. Good thing, the bacon highlighted the saltiness in it.
And now, finally getting to taste their superb onion rings! 8 Cuts’ Onion Rings has always been on the frontline for its impeccable onion breading. Jem said she does not eat onion, but having tasted this actually made her finish almost half of the bucket! (Me on the half, hehe!) The bucket is too big for us three, we weren’t able to finish the entire tub. It was crispy and well-flavored. Jun finds it too oily though.
And last but not the least – the Party Spaghetti. What I liked about this one is that the pasta was thin and manageable to eat amid all the burgers stuffed in your mouth. Haha! The sauce leans on sweetness and a bit of sourness but it was not the ideal sauce we are looking for. The presence of cheese was not utterly felt in this dish.
Congratulations to 8 Cuts on its fifth year anniversary and for executing a well-planned promo! It was orderly and well-coordinated. Of course, I am only speaking for my experience in Serendra branch. I hope it was also the same for the other branches.
